Peder Johnson

Peder is a partner and portfolio manager for the Boston Family Office. He joined the firm in 2016 after running his own investment advisory firm, Roxiticus Partners, for several years.

Previously, he was a partner at Parkman Shaw & Co., a Boston-based advisory firm, did financial planning work at MetLife, and worked in marketing at a hedge fund named AlphaMetrics Capital Management.

Peder attended the University of Vermont and Thomas Edison State College and received a Master of Science degree in Investment Management from Boston University in 2005.

Growing up in the farmlands of Vermont, Peder never imagined he would become an investment manager. As a young adult he spent several months hitchhiking across the country and came to appreciate the social and economic diversity of the United States. After a year of fishing and hiking in Alaska, he began a publishing career in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Later, he and a cousin founded a monthly computer publication in Madison, Wisconsin. During his time in the Mid-West a fateful visit to the Chicago Board of Trade piqued his interest in investments.

Peder lives in Charlestown with his spouse and two children. He volunteers time to several non-profits including: The Shaw Fund for Mariners' Children, the North Bennet Street School, and the Charlestown Youth Hockey Association. He enjoys many activities but playing hockey with his kids and cultivating a yoga practice are his current favorites.
