Michael J. Unger, CFA is a partner of and portfolio manager at The Boston Family Office. He joined the firm in 2000.

Previously, Michael headed the investment management team for Mellon Private Capital Management's Charitable Giving service, a new line of business at the time that he joined Mellon. Prior to that, he managed individual and institutional investment portfolios for Key Trust Company of Ohio/Key Asset Management.

Michael graduated in 1990 from the University of Dayton with a BS in Finance and with a minor in History. His interests include running, motorcycles, and sailing.

A relatively recent arrival to New England, Michael was born and grew up in Southern Africa, spending his childhood in Malawi, South Africa, and what is now Zimbabwe.

He lives near Boulder, Colorado with Jean, the love of his life, and their small but noisy dog.
