George Putnam, III helped found The Boston Family Office and is a partner, although he is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Currently, George is the President of New Generation Advisors which manages funds investing in distressed securities and New Generation Research which publishes a newsletter called The Turnaround Letter. George also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Putnam Funds.

George earned a BA from Harvard College, and a JD and MBA from Harvard Law School and Business School respectively.

He is a Trustee of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA and formerly served on the St. Mark's School Board of Trustees as a Trustee and later as Chairman.

He lives on the North Shore with his wife and two youngest children.
