George Putnam, III helped found The Boston Family Office and is a partner, although he is not involved in the day-to-day operations of the firm.

Currently, George is the President of New Generation Advisors which manages funds investing in distressed securities and New Generation Research which publishes a newsletter called The Turnaround Letter. George also serves on the Board of Trustees of the Putnam Funds.

George earned a BA from Harvard College, and a JD and MBA from Harvard Law School and Business School respectively.

George continues to serve on the St. Mark's School Board of Trustees having previously served as Chairman. He is also a Trustee of the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole, MA.

George serves as the Chairman of the St. Mark's School Board of Trustees.

He lives on the North Shore with his wife and two youngest children.
